Easter Egg Coloring

With Easter right around the corner, and with the first day of spring now here, I thought it would be fun to try my hand at something I haven't done since I was a child: decorating Easter eggs! I put a photo up on my Facebook page asking readers to guess what I was up to, and some of you got it!

My friend Crystal came over to help color while on a study break, and her egg came out so cool! We ended up mixing several tablets in one bowl, and hers came out in a lovely "galaxy" wash. As an added unforeseen bonus, her egg also matched her lip color! (Which is NARS Mexican Rose btw - we both own the color we love it so much!)

I got the idea to create patterns using electrical tape from the Martha Stewart website, and used the egg boiling tips from here (no green egg yolks!). Also, you can create your own coloring dyes by using food coloring, hot water and white vinegar! Super simple. To see the results from today's post, be sure to come back on Friday - there's bunnies involved!!

Also, GFC and Google Reader is being retired! Be sure to follow the blog through Bloglovin' HERE.
