Lace Bomber Jacket - Updated!

My boss (perhaps some sort of subliminal styling challenge) kindly gave me this outfit from the store. She gave them as three pieces separately. I wanted to see how they would all work together as an outfit, and to my surprise I liked the result!
Lace jacket and sheer tank: Lush // skirt: Final Touch // shoes: c/o Wild Doll (I've got a coupon in the side bar!)
It seems that fall has arrived early to Northern California. The day these photos where taken, temperatures didn't rise above 64 degrees! Of course, there will be some sort of heat wave in late September / Mid October (there always is) that will mess up my layering mojo.

Why I'm A•Mused: My "skirt" here is actually a slip. It's solid enough to not look like underwear, and I love how the fringe plays into the layer of the jacket. Also, I personally love how this neon orange necklace looks with the purple tank. My boyfriend said "it's eclectic, and not in a good way" when I left the house, but he's a guy. I love it, and I think it works in a great way.

Update: I'm doubly amused today: I've been featured on the Black Girl with Long Hair Website/Blog! It's such a fun feature. Click on link to read up on my thoughts on personal style and hair acceptance.

Wow, you look ten years older in this. It's a sophisticated outfit for an adult woman. How'd you grow up so fast?!

Amber, your style in these images seems a reminder that the seasons will soon alter and a change is coming. Either by accident or design, the emanating brightness of photographs that were taken during the radiant height of summer has been replaced by an image in which the light is absorbed into the background and diffused upon contact with fabrics, reminding us this summer is merely a transitory feature.
I actually sound like a very pretentious wannabe photo editor upon reviewing my above comment, therefore, I shall stop.
