Ah, the bootcut jean. Quite possibly the all time world over favorite. I'm willing to bet that every girl, woman and child who has owned (or currently owns) a pair of jeans, has owned a pair of bootcut jeans. There are so many variations of the bootcut it's mind blowing; And just like shorts, this is definitely a style that everyone can wear.
This pair of jeans cost me less than $20, and they are nearly 7 years old. I love them. The fading that you see is au natural. When I first bought these they were a dark medium wash, and had rhinestones on the back pockets (which I promptly removed - I want my jeans to have as few details as possible). They've fit tight, and they've fit loose; yet they always seem to fit me just the way I need them to. I have lived in these: broken up with boyfriends, moved out of houses, cried myself to sleep, jumped with joy, started college, been to France - all in this one pair of jeans. To say that I have a strong emotional attachment to them would be an understatement. Babooshka dress // l.e.i. jeans // Pierre Hardy for Gap wedges [old] // Liv Fashion Boutique clutch // ring & necklace Banana Republic // bracelets Asos & my friend Jesse (thanks Jesse!!) |
This is one of my favorite outfits to wear. Not only is it easy, it's also got a sort of effortless chic to it. Key word being effortless. I can throw this on for lunch or shopping with my gilfriends, go on a Friday night date with my boyfriend, or attend a meeting (this probably only applies to California residents though...). It's the pop of brass and gold that really gives this outfit it's dressy edge. On the flip side, take away the clutch, necklace and braclets and add a crossbody bag, let down your hair and put on some feather earrings and you've got yourself a great bohemian look.
See? Effortless!
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the last outfit of Denim Week!
Can you guess what pair will be next?
