Sonoma is one of those towns that I absolutely adore (Girl and the Fig, anyone?), but never seem to visit as often as I would like. Sonoma has one of the best summer farmer's markets around, my favorite Mexican restaurant, and as I recently discovered, a new handmade ice cream shop. I'm definitely going to be spending more time in this little town very soon!
The drive to Sonoma is beautiful: cruising through the winding valley roads there are large rolling hills that are now lush and green from all the rain. At sunset they blaze purple and pink with evening clouds tumbling down through the yellow mustard fields. You can spot deer grazing along the fences, and see the rows of vines that are now once again sprouting their leaves. It's such a blessing to call Sonoma County home, and honestly, I don't think I'll ever be able to take it's beauty for granted.
Today's post is special because; I'm wearing shorts! It's still March! Imagine what an unexpected joy it is to have weather lovely enough to forego the tights and sweaters and scarves (no matter how lovely they are), and comfortably wear a pair of chino roll-up shorts while wandering Sonoma Plaza. A girl couldn't ask for more!
