Black Moto Jeans

I know that it may be sacrilege to mention it, but it will officially be fall on Thursday. In true form Sonoma County has not received the memo. It was 96F today. The Caesar salad I had today for lunch wilted on my plate while I was eating it. My afternoon was mostly spent sitting in the shade, watching teenagers jump off of a tall bridge into a shallow river.

Which, I have to admit: it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Sweltering heat makes me move extra slow, and as someone who has a hard time remaining still, it's a welcome repose. My thoughts always seem to be a step or two ahead of my words, and in conversations I will often leap from one topic to another without any warning. I remember once reading that Google has decreased our attention spans, and our ability to retain information. We no longer memorize the directions to the store, or how to get to the local farmers market; we simply remember to use Google Maps instead. It's a strange study in contrasts in how we remember and process information.

Contrasts are what keep things interesting, however. If you follow me on Instagram you'll probably be familiar with these moto jeans; and you'll know that I own them in three different colors. I purchased these jeans in black, dark olive, and dusty rose. They've been a great weekend staple, and I have found that I can make them work for the office if paired with a white button-down tunic (but only these black ones). For the weekend I like the look of pairing these jeans with a feminine camisole and a lace bralette.

Interestingly, it was the bralette that stole the show on Instagram; everyone wanted to know if it was part of the top (it's not), where it was purchased (Forever 21), and if it was comfortable (it is!). I have linked to several options at the bottom of this post. Hopefully you'll be able to find one or two that you love. If you don't, I suggest heading to your local Forever 21 as they have some adorable options, most under $14!

Top: Forever 21 // Bralette: Forever 21 (similar alternatives: one / two / three ) // Jeans: Beulah moto leggings // Boots: Gap (older) // Lips: Coola LipLux in 'Bonfire'
