The last time I was in Paris, I may have seen almost every major museum the city had to offer. I kid you not. The Rodin Museum? Lourve, Pompidou, Picaso, Maillol, d'Orsay, Van Gogh Museum? Yes, yes and yes. I know I'm forgetting others...There was this amazing one that was all open space...
But one that really struck me was the Musee l'Orangerie. The canvases wrapping around the walls, the carefully filtered light. The scene instantly puts you into a tranquil calm. Pure beauty, really.
Monet's home in Giverny, is quite like his paintings. Waterlilies gently float by on a gentle stream and Weeping Willows create a soft music. Can you imagine sitting out on his terrace and having a crisp cool lemonade? With a man who painted and gardened like him, I'm sure he had some wonderful outlooks on life.
I know he has improved mine.
