Ok. So my outfit was slightly out of touch with reality; wandering the California hills (complete with snake friendly tall grass) in chiffon and high-water capris, perhaps, was not the wisest choice. But in my defense it was a picnic, and I was uber excited. I mean, back in the day women used to wander prairies in ankle length skirts! At least my ankles were getting some air.

The location was absolutely incredible; large birds of prey soaring on hot winds, and visibility that stretched for miles. My boyfriend and I climbed to the top of a hill to find a bench with the perfect view; and with lunch it ended up being a feast for all the senses. Later when a burly mountain man passed by with a heat insulated Starbucks cup, we took pause.
"Was that man with..?"
"Yeah."
"...Just checking."
