I was delighted when the lovely Remie, author of Remie's Luxury Blog asked if she could do a guest post you guys! In this post Remie shares with us the joys and highlights of spending a weekend in Paris. Enjoy!
Ohh La La! A Luxury Weekend in Paris
There is an art to packing all of the best bits into one tiny tiny trip to Paris, and unfortunately blogging it is not an option. I have only been to Paris twice and the first was a fleeting visit that taught me failing to prepare was preparing to fail.
As the author and founder of Remie's Luxury Blog, it has been my mission to seek out the most luxurious experiences from the most coveted destinations around the globe. Creating a luxury itinerary is no easy feat but I’ve managed to single out some of my favourite Parisian holiday highlights to help you squeeze as much luxury as you can out of your weekend break.
As a city that condones pastries and red wine for breakfast, Paris stole my heart no sooner than I arrived. The City of Lights has always been the perfect mini break destination whether you are looking for romance or retail therapy. After all, what better way to spend 48hrs than visiting the fashion capital of the world?
High fashion, art and culture is something that Paris is not short of but if you want to experience Paris to the full, it is crucial to begin every day with purpose.
Sample French Delicacies
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but after your trip to Paris it may also become your favourite. Where else is it ok to indulge in warm chocolate pastries before 9.00 am? Start your day the French way with rich fragrant black coffee or a glass of red wine paired with plenty of pastries. If pain au chocolat doesn’t float your boat why not sample the selection of creamy fromage and cold meats?

See the Sights
Museums and monuments may not be your thing but no luxury trip to Paris is complete without a visit to the awesome Eiffel Tower. Get up early to experience this awe-inspiring monument at sunrise and soak up the sights without hoards of other tourists. If you prefer to sleep in, the Eiffel Tower is the perfect place to watch the sun set. Why not take a bottle of bubbles and enjoy a champagne toast under the stars?
Learn the Art of People Watching
To squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of your trip, it is essential to understand the rules of cafe culture. Sit back and relax, take your time and savour the moment. Scoping out a spot to people watch is simple with plenty of roadside café’s and bars in prime position. Cafe de Flore is one of my favourite places to grab a spot of lunch and watch the world go by. If a lazy lunch is more your thing, head to Le Tuileries for a posh picnic. The stunning gardens provide the perfect setting to enjoy some of the most impressive architecture and take in the scenery.
Enjoy a Spot of Shopping
The main street is not to be missed and there are plenty of luxury boutiques to be found on Avenue Montaigne. While away the afternoon window-shopping at Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior and hundreds of other designer stores.
Give in to your Sweet Tooth
Paris is not a place to go if you plan to watch what you eat. The streets of Paris are sprinkled with all manner of delicious treats, from pastel coloured macaroons to cupcakes and exquisite handmade chocolates. Laduree is the place to visit for all things naughty but nice and it is also the perfect place to pick up some gorgeous gifts for friends and family. For more on Paris eats click here
Relax and Unwind
Looking to unwind before you party the night away in Paris? Indulge in a little me time with an unforgettable spa treatment at one of the city’s most sought after spas. The chocolate massage is a signature spa treat at The Four Seasons and is the just what the doctor ordered after pounding the Parisian streets.
What do you love most about Paris? Let us know the highlights of your trip; we would love to hear your comments.
