Flowers of May

A heatwave has once again come to Northern California, and (as usual) I couldn't be happier about it. There is something about the suffocating heat that just makes me come alive like a live wire - I thrive. I have been seeing roses in bloom everywhere: and it seems the heat only makes their scent all the more sweet. I thought this dress was an appropriate way to honor them.

Audrey dress (also seen here)  // Pierre Hardy for GAP wedges // Coach bag (also seen here)

We all have our favorite items in our closest that we keep coming back to...For me, these Pierre Hardy wedges are a warm weather staple. I know that by blogger standards they are old, but I honestly don't care - the big floppy fabric bows make my heart skip a beat. My heart doesn't know the difference between these shoes and Captain America's little tush on The Avengers. (Except that I get to take these wedges home, place them in a box and save them for later. My boyfriend won't let me take Captain America home. Or Thor for that matter.)

Oh! Be sure to stop by the Facebook Page to see some rather humorous outtakes from today's post!

Ps a warm welcome to three of my new readers, Amara, Nik and Dark Angel!

I'm more impressed by the Converse platforms on your Facebook page, only because I too have a pair (not platforms, but ordinary Converse), so in that sense I almost feel ike I can relate better to the product you're fashioning.

Glad to see the sun shines in Calfornia during the month of May. Here in the UK, the temperature is colder than it was on Christmas day. Not the best weather for honouring either roses nor blooms. The lack of British sunsine makes you want to put on a pair of Captain America platforms and jump on them in frustration of the summer not coming when it should.

You're one of the few people I know who actually enjoys insanely hot weather. Every summer here in Toronto countless people I know complain on intensely hot days, the same people that longed for the heat in the winter and complained about how cold it was back then. I LOVE stiflingly hot summer days, being surrounded by bare tanned skin, drinking something cold (which always seems to go down better as the temperature goes up).

This dress is really cute on you. Can a guy say cute? Okay you look amazing, how's that? I love the print, it's big and bold and the colour is perfectly stated, not too bright or in-your-face.

I'm not generally a fan of wedges but these caught my eye before I read the rest of your post. They're certainly one of the nicest pairs I've ever seen, I think the bows really set them off and are a brilliant touch (cute definitely applies here).

The whole ensemble is a real winner, no doubt you're turning some heads. This is the kind of thing I look forward to most in the hotter months. Women who dress in a way that not only celebrates summer, but themselves.
