Lavender Fields

Last Friday my boyfriend and I toured a local winery, that's almost directly in our backyard! What makes it so lovely is that it is landscaped with fields of lavender. The warm sunny weather with the low hum of bees reminded me of Provence, France.

The sprawling grounds of Matanzas Creek Winery are lovely. Intimate nooks of shade complete with tables and seating dot the grounds and make you never want to leave. It was a warm day when we visited, and the scent of lavender reminded me of the south of France. The distant laughter of wine-tasters mixed in with the scented breeze was perfection. No better way to spend a Friday! I cannot wait to return with my picnic basket and purchase a bottle of their fruit kissed Chardonnay.

Fun fact: I'm allergic to bees. Also: I don't have an EpiPen. I should probably get on that.
