Misty, the California based designer of WearMena kindly sent over this hoodie as a surprise. I was so excited when it arrived that I wore it the same day, right out of it's mailer.

This hoodie is fun for so many reasons: it's cropped (which makes it the perfect companion to my high waisted jeans that I'm currently wearing a lot), the fabric has metallic thread, and the hoodie is actually large enough to fit over my ginormous head of hair. It's incredible!
As some of you may know, Northern California is experiencing some rather peculiar "fall" weather. Today for example, was 102F. It's the strangest thing because we have the wind, the trees dropping their leaves, and yet we are also having the exact same weather as Death Valley.
So why am I wearing both a hoodie and a blazer? Well, one of the characteristics of Northern CA is that no matter what the temperature during the day, you can always count on a steep drop in temperature once the sun begins to set. For example: tomorrow has a high of 96F, but an evening low of 53F. When I first moved out here for college, the huge variation in temperatures took me forever to get used to. Now I've learned that it makes for really good wine, so I'm more than happy to put on a few extra light layers. I just wish I could wear my knee high boots as some in other states are able to do already!
