Have Your Candy and Eat It Too, with Crest

This post is sponsored by Crest

What is your favorite candy during the Halloween season? Growing up my favorite was Junior Mints. There were so many little chocolate mint flavored candies in the box that it felt like I could make the treats last forever. Candy longevity is a thing when you’re young. For candy nowadays I tend to gravitate towards the non-chocolate variety: Sour Patch Kids, Sour Straws, Swedish Fish, and unfrosted Strawberry Pop Tarts are all among my favorites. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (regular sized, not the minis!) and Twix are my favorite chocolate goodies.

Halloween just wouldn’t be the same without candy! Sure, there are always healthy alternatives, but...sometimes having the real deal is the only way to go. Watch this hilarious video from Crest, a candy-swap experiment gone wrong (especially at :35):

Fun Fact: I still go Trick-or-Treating. I don’t understand why adults are discouraged from doing this. It’s FUN! It’s a great community activity. As adults we visit the pumpkin patch, why not also participate in visiting our neighbors and ask for candy? Many of my friends prefer to pass out candy; which I get. The ability to engage with several people from the comfort of your own home and pass out candy that everyone enjoys is still a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween.

Of course acquiring the candy is one thing. Deciding what to do with it once it has been collected is quite another. Even as an adult I find it can be hard to control myself with a bowl of my favorite candy just sitting there...staring at me. Somehow one piece of candy turns into 12 empty mini wrappers cluttering my couch as I watch television. This is usually the time of year I really, really make sure I’m not over-doing it on the sugar (though it is challenging!).

Did you know? According to a recent Candy Confessions survey from Crest, during Halloween, a responsible 58% of adults limit their candy consumption on Halloween night.? I personally try to ration my candy by daily limits as to not over-do things. I don’t keep candy in the house on a regular basis, so the first week following Halloween is always the hardest (new exciting sugar in the house!).

Of course one of the biggest things to remember is that oral health is incredibly important. As much as we try to limit or ration our candy intake during this time of year, it is equally as important to remember to have and maintain healthy teeth! The great news is that Crest has you covered this Halloween: From 10/28 to 11/24, Target will be offering $2.00 off Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy and $2.00 off Crest Gum & Enamel Repair OR Crest Gum Detoxify through the Cartwheel app. Along with the Cartwheel deals there is a gift card offer running 10/28 – 11/3: buy 4 Crest Pastes and receive a $5 gift card to Target. Additionally, on 10/28, a $1-off coupon insert will be available inside local newspapers across the U.S., giving you a discount on your favorite Crest Toothpaste varieties through 11/10.

So my Trick-or-Treaters and candy-givers; rest assured! With Crest you can have your candy and eat it too :) In the comments be sure to tell me what your favorite candy is! And, let me know which Crest toothpaste is your favorite too!
