Casual Glam with Banana Republic at Del Dotto Winery

One of my favorite things about the wineries here in Wine Country is their ability to transport you to another time and place. While visiting the Del Dotto Winery (my first time!) I was immediately transported to the opulence of Italy. Passing through the cast iron gates and driving down the road, one might easily overlook Del Dotto at first glance. However upon walking on to the property, it's hard not to feel like a princess in a fairy tale.

Complete with a water fountain, miniature carved statues, vine covered walls, mosaic tiled floors, marble pillars, and a spectacular series of wine tours, Del Dotto is a Napa Valley winery that should be high on your list to visit and experience! Photography is restricted while inside the building - so I gave you a quick (and stunning!) behind the scenes look on my Instagram Live story over the weekend. iPhone photos were allowed, which was nice.

For my outfit I wanted to glam things up a bit, while still remaining comfortable and practical. I wore a short sleeve beaded top from Banana Republic, and paired it with my favorite frayed collar military jacket and suede purse (also BR) as I liked how they picked up the colors in the beading detail. I thought that my new Nike Roche sneakers made for a fun and unexpected pairing, and I really like how the look came out! Wearing sneakers outside of the gym is something quite new to me, but I love the opportunity to try something new, and I have been experimenting with the Roche's lately. I like that the beaded blouse helped add a touch of glamor to my outfit, while still allowing me to move about Del Dotto in comfort and ease.

When touring wine caves, you need to be able to move, and to be on your feet for extended amounts of time. And while I might be the only one to tell you this - trust me: comfort is key in the wine country! Close toed shoes are also recommended - wine barrels aren't something that you want to stub your toe on. Of course everyone wants to feel extra special while visiting the glamorous wineries - which is perfectly understandable. A happy compromise is to elevate everyday basics with on-trend glamor pieces (did you notice all the 70s glam on the runway this season at NYFW?), that way you can conquer the day in both comfort and style!
