LBD for Local Winetasting

Lately these hot summer days have me moving at the slowest pace; which is ironic because I feel like I have been going non-stop these days. I don't particularly like to over-glorify the busyness of life - rather I like to day0dream of hot lazy weekends where I slowly wander Downtown Santa Rosa, ducking into my favorite brunch spots.

During the summer week days (and particularly on Wednesdays), my friends and I like to head out for a bit of wine tasting. For locals who work the usual 9-5, it can be challenging to find a winery that is open later than normal business hours. It's because of this that local breweries and pubs have become such a part of the culture of wine country; beer people just understand you need a drink after work!

That being said, there are a few local spots that offer up the wine tasting experience catered to the SoCo residents; stocked with local wines, they are open late, host live music, and just like Cheers, they have their regulars. Cellars of Sonoma is one of my favorite wine bars to frequent; several nights a week they host local musicians, have a dry rosé, and are located in the charming Old Railroad Square in Downtown Santa Rosa.

When heading out with friends on a week day, I like to keep things casual, but still dressy. While shopping at the Santa Rosa Plaza, I found this chic little black dress by Michael Kors, which I instantly fell in love with. The LBD is fantastic because it can be dressed up/down for almost any occasion. To keep things chic and easy, I paired the dress with a classic denim jacket, and a neutral pair of nude leather espadrilles. A small cross body bag keeps me hands-free, and means I don't have to worry about setting it down anywhere.

Wine Wednesdays (which is a very real thing here in Sonoma County) are a great reason to go out; it gets me out on a week day and excited for the weekend. But perhaps the best excuse for WW is to be able to catch up with my friends, and fill each other in on our lives, and talk about the important things in our lives: men and shoes. (Shoes. We actually just talk about shoes.)

My leather espadrilles are by a company called Coolway Shoes and they are so unique and comfortable. I get compliments on them wherever I go, and I love that they are unlike any espadrille I have ever seen before. I tie my laces around my ankle for extra visual interest. They're my perfect summer sandal for wine tasting, walks along the Petaluma waterfront, and lazy afternoons in the sun.

Happy Wine Wednesday everyone!
