Jennifer Fabulous from I Know, Right? Guest Post!!

I am so honored to host the following guest post from Jennifer! Her blog has been a favorite of mine for a long time now. Her fun, quirky and honest style of writing has me looking forward to each posting of hers. Better yet? I consider her a friend. While we have never met in person, I consider her friendship to be one of value and great honor. She is my very first guest post that I have ever done on the blog, and I couldn't think of any one better for the job!

I know, Right? Guest post Marlo Thomas, America's Sweetheart
Most children of celebrities grow up to be spoiled brats.
Marlo Thomas is not that girl.

The gorgeous, bubbly actress grew up in Beverly Hills, but never let her famous zip code define her.
After high school, Marlo graduated from the University of Southern California with a teaching degree. A short time later, however, she realized her heart really belonged in her family's business: show business.

In the mid-1960s, Marlo helped create her very own show: That Girl.

The show, which revolved around a single girl trying to make it on her own in New York City, made history. It paved the way for shows such as the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Friends, Murphy Brown, and Sex & the City. It also sealed Marlo's status as a television star and fashion icon.

Her glamorous personal life and stunning boho chic style awed millions of people around the world. She quickly became known as America's Sweetheart.

Fortunately, Marlo didn't let her stardom get to her head. She didn't start popping pills or abusing alcohol. She knew that her new found power came with responsibility. Plus, she was extremely close with her father, comedian Danny Thomas, who she did not want to disappoint. After all, her father was not only her best friend, but her hero as well. She adored him.

Marlo's father was an extremely compassionate man. Growing up the son of Lebanese immigrants, he struggled with poverty and discrimination. As a child, he vowed one day he would help all families in need, despite their race, religion, or ethnicity. In 1957, he started to raise money to make his dream come true. With the help of his pals, Milton Berle, Bob Hope, George Burns, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr., and even a young Elvis Presley, he started building his American Dream. In 1962, the famous comedian opened the doors to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Over the next few decades, Marlo continued to act, but became more and more involved with her father's foundation. Today, she serves as the hospital's National Outreach Director.

She dedicates her life to following in her father's footsteps. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is now one of the nation's leading pediatric research and treatment centers devoted solely to children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. No family is turned away if they can't afford the treatment.

Marlo Thomas is a true class act. Nobody deserves the title of America's Sweetheart more than she does. To donate money to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital click here. To learn more about Marlo Thomas today, click here.

I also want to thank Amber for letting me do a guest post. I have been a huge fan of her blog for a long time, so I'm honored to be here. I hope you enjoyed my guest post and I hope you check out my blog as well!

I've always wanted to see "That Girl." I knew that she was a classy lady because my mom (another classy lady) likes her.

Neat guest post!
