Peju Winery is a winery that I have admired from afar for years, but never ventured to visit. It's pink exterior has always appealed to me, and it's provincial exterior is so perfectly French that even without wandering the grounds, I knew that it was an instant favorite. The Tim Burton-like trees that line the driveway are the first thing that drew my attention to the property. Over the holidays the trees are decorated with Christmas lights that end up being quite elegant in a uniquely beautiful way. The pink building and the water moat, along with the fountains make this place worthy of a visit.
Peju’s Rutherford Estate grounds and gardens are decorated with sculpture pieces that range from classic to modern. The Estate also has a beautifully curated upstairs gallery that s
howcases artists from around the world. In addition to art, the winery also offers farm-to-table luncheons, wine pairing classes, and private culinary classes.
Wondering what wines to sample while visiting? Don't miss their award winning Cabernet Sauvignon and Sryah! They also do a fun wine that is titled "The Experiment". It's one that should certainly be experienced - be sure to ask about it (or order it online if you're feeling adventurous).
For my visit I decided to wear an outfit that was both playful and comfortable. For Valentine's Day I was given a pair of Converse that I had been wanting for some time: The Comme Des Garçons Play sneakers! The couldn't have been a more perfect gift for the holiday (hearts), and I step out in my classic Converse all the time, so these will certainly be getting their fair share of wear.
