With Abraham Maslavi, CEO & Co-owner of Jovani, and Julie DuRocher, the designer! |
My second day at WWDMAGIC had less appointments, but remained just as thrilling as the day before. I took the time to explore the shows that I didn't have the time to explore on Monday: WWD White, WSA, and the Emerging Designer Showcase. In the morning my mother and I attended a blogger panel that was speaking on 'Storytelling through Social Media'. Which after touring several of the booths, I believe actually translates to 'sharing lifestyle through marketing'.

Jovani designer Julie DuRocher in Maslavi dress, and Jovani model |
The
Jovani booth took my breath away. Their models had caught my attention earlier; they were gorgeous! One thing I noticed right away was that nothing is understated at Jovani. Which as it turns out, produces absolutely beautiful results. The eyelash lace (pictured on the trim of the yellow dress above), crystals, sheer mesh, chiffon, and serious sex appeal all come together to create unforgettable pieces. It has become a new goal to see one of their dresses hanging in my closet. Who cares if I have an occasion! While there I also learned that their co-owner and CEO Abraham Maslavi has a sister line to the brand, Maslavi. They are all as equally stunning!

Misty Rose, the designer of Wear Mena |
The second day at MAGIC was a great success. In the Emerging Designer Showcase I met designer Misty Rose of Wear Mena (right above). See the bowl she's holding? It's full of homemade cookies that she baked herself! A perfect marketing move, because it totally worked. Her husband was handing them out and I nearly tripped over myself to stop (I was starving). Be sure to visit tomorrow to see a spotlight feature on Misty and her brand!
